About the association

Founded for students of Erasmus University Rotterdam, IFSA Rotterdam is managed by an international board of students who share one thing: a serious interest in finance. As the founding chapter of the IFSA network, our sessions draw participants from across Europe and beyond.
Our mission is to guide the next generation through the industry — with access, preparation and honest advice rather than brochures.

Analyst Programme
The IFSA Analyst Programme
12 WEEKS. 4 FINANCE TRACKS. REAL PROJECT EXPERIENCE.
The IFSA Analyst Programme is a hands-on programme where you work in a specialised team to research, analyse, model and present a financial or strategic project.
You don't just learn finance — you apply it.
What you will actually do?
As an Analyst, you will work in a small team throughout the programme. Depending on your division, you may:
- Research companies, industries & markets
- Analyse financial performance
- Build financial models & valuations
- Develop investment or strategic recommendations
- Present your findings
Your team will work towards a final professional deliverable that you can put on your CV and discuss in future interviews.
No extensive finance experience is required — we are looking for motivated students who want to learn.
Choose your finance track
VC & Growth Advisory
Work with early-stage startups through our ECE collaboration, focusing on financial analysis, funding and growth strategy.
Macro & Capital Markets
Work with IFSA Hansraj (Delhi University) on an international research project covering macroeconomics, private capital and global finance.
Private Equity & Tech M&A
Act as a PE investment team, analysing technology and SaaS companies through valuation, LBO modelling and investment analysis.
Corporate Finance & M&A
Act as a corporate finance advisory team, analysing companies through DCF valuation, financial analysis and strategic/M&A analysis.
You will rank your preferred divisions when applying.
What will you produce?

Corporate Finance & M&A

These aren't classroom exercises — they are substantial team projects designed to give you practical experience.
Your 12-week journey

Understand your company, market or research topic.

Receive feedback and strengthen your team's work.

Bring everything together into your final recommendation and deliverable.
The exact timeline differs by division, but every team follows a structured project from start to finish.
Analyst or Lead Analyst?
Analyst | 4–6 hrs/week
You will:
- → Conduct research & analysis
- → Contribute to models and deliverables
- → Work closely with your team
- → Present your findings
- → Build practical finance skills
Lead Analyst | 6–8 hrs/week
You will do the above while taking greater ownership of the team, including:
- → Coordinating the analysts
- → Dividing & overseeing project work
- → Working directly with the Analyst Director
Who should apply?
You don't need to have a previous internship or know how to build an LBO.
We're looking for students who are:
CURIOUS. ANALYTICAL. COMMITTED. PROACTIVE.
